Scorsese’s Oscar-winning family fantasy reels you into the magic of early cinema showmanship

Set in 1930s Paris, Scorsese pulls out all the stops to create an exquisitely crafted family fantasy that tells the astonishing story of a wily young orphan whose quest is to unlock a secret left to him by his father. Hugo lives a covert life in the walls of a Paris train station but gets caught up in a magical, mysterious adventure when he encounters a broken machine, an eccentric girl, and the cold, reserved man who runs the toy shop. Inspired by the story of film pioneer George Méliès and based on Brian Selznick’s wonderful prize-winning book, this is one for the child inside us all. Absolutely unmissable for anyone who loves the cinema.
