Blackly entertaining story of two couples that swap partners and then swap back. Dan (Law), a struggling writer, falls in love with spunky American Alice (Portman). A year later Dan fancies, pursues and eventually beds Anna (Roberts), an attractive photographer whose partner Larry (Owen), a cold-hearted macho doctor then seeks out Alice. After that things start to get complicated. Brutal, funny, and oh-so-cold-hearted, but all four stars are on top form as beautiful people who talk dirty and compete ruthlessly in a bitter dogfight for sexual dominance.
